STRONG Project

Strategic Parterships for Vocational Education and Training

Drills, qualification tests and hands-on training are everyday reality for the first responders. However, all the aforementioned become redundant if they are not  equipped with skills and the needful education to operate seamlessly with professionalism with the community members when a physical or manmade disaster occurs.

LEA’s, EMS, Fire-fighters are the services arriving first at the incident  scene trying to mitigate casualties and ensure peoples security.

First responders’ timely deployment is a determinant factor but not the only one. Interoperability, interdisciplinary teamwork, orchestration, proactiveness, forward-thinking, communication and negotiation skills are a few of the capabilities that involved personnel should acquire.

Investing in training and education of the first responders is the safest and most prominent way to reach efficiency in response while keeping them safe and secure from imminent or post threats.

STRONG project proposes a series of online courses that tackle the training need of first responders under a transversal approach.

STRONG aims to provide first responders with a set of essential soft skills (somewhat marginalized for the sake of traditional and most urgent skills) and education to quickly adopt state of the art tools to be able to provide an effective response regardless of the circumstances.

STRONG envisages a network tool through which they will be able to connect; share experiences; identify best practices and foster cooperation among them (first responders teams) at European level. The challenges they face are not circumscribed to a sole territory, so it is crucial to promote the cooperation at European level.
